Thanks for all the Mail!

Garin has been loving all the cards in the mail. We try to sort of ration them out throughout the day, saving them for moments of boredom or frustration. We really appreciate everyone's kindness and thoughtfulness. He even gets mail from friends of friends/family -- people who haven't even met him. Many, many, many thanks.

And the occasional enclosed stickers and other treats are extra bonus fun! (thanks Alex for these ones) He has become obsessed with decorating himself or others with the stickers.

As for a medical update: Garin doesn't seem to have any pain in his leg anymore (he complains of being itchy and/or uncomfortable, but not hurting, which is good). He "walks" all over the place holding onto things for support or with help from an adult; he can balance and stand without holding onto anything for short periods of time (never when he's thinking about it, only when he happens to be busy and using both hands for something else). Mel's collarbone is mostly healed, headed to the orthopedist this week just to make sure, but not much hurts it anymore. The forehead/temple scar is still looking pretty impressive and the right eyebrow still doesn't raise so we'll have to wait and see how those things progress. All the minor scrapes and bruises are completely better.

How about a video clip of the walking? It's kind of hard to imagine. Love, Grammy

Oh my God, Mel & Jess-- I just clicked on to the blog, realizing that I haven't checked in for a few months, and I'm just sitting here seriously weeping about what happened to your family. Of course, I'm so so so happy that you all are healing, but I can't believe how intense these last few months must have been for you (and still are).
Auntie Ellen and Gi-An will bring lots of fun stickers and anything else that ya'll might want/need-- like last summer, I would lovelovelove to help your family out as much as you need me. I've been dreaming about playing with Garin, and I know both G and I cannot wait to have some quality hanging out time with his mommas who are so dear in our hearts.
I'm flying into NoHo on the 29th-- when do you think ya'll will get in? I can definitely help you get settled/ unpack.
Again, I'm so glad that you're healing well and both G and I can't wait to see you all so soon.
Lots of Love,
E
