Casherola!

The Casherola was started by our friend AJ in 2003 after Johnny Cash passed away - it's a time to mourn that loss by eating comfort food (casserole & whiskey). (AJ is now in Colombia working as an international accompanier, see her blog for more info, so we get to host the party.) It also gave us a chance to show off the new house.Of course Garin was the real star, flirting with all the ladies as usual . . .

And did you see his outfit? Helps to be friends with a professor of costume design!

Class of 2025

Just realized the boy will graduate high school in 2025! That's just crazy, maybe he'll have a flying car when he turns 16. But anyway, he's well on his way, lots of new tricks include being much more interested in his toys and books.Compare that with these pictures from early October when sleeping was the norm and the big accomplishment was pulling himself up. (oh, and he wasn't HUGE, look at those tiny limbs and the absence of three chins!)

Garin Meets the Family (part 1)

After a 2 day drive, we spent Thanksgiving in Willimantic, CT with Jess' dad's family. Here's Garin with Nana (Jess' grandma) . . .

. . . and Papa Curt (Jess' dad), we're sorry we didn't get any pictures of Garin with Mary Ann (Papa's partner).

Garin also got to go to the bowling alley to meet Poppi (Nonni's partner) and then we went out to dinner.

Garin and Uncle Chris didn't quite know what to make of each other . . . (really, they got along quite well, it's just a silly photo). And then on the drive home, we stayed with Garin's Grandparents-in-Law-to-Be (Jess' sister's fiance's parents) and their guide-dog-in-training Luau.

(Part 2 of "Garin Meets the Family" to come after a December trip to WA.)
