End of Feb Photos

No cohesive theme on these, just downloading photos from the camera and thought we should post some. The weather has been amazing here the past few days, bright and sunny, temps in the 70s. We're spending a lot of time outside on walks or on the deck.
The new sitting and playing skill is lots of fun for Garin, and gives moms a bit more time with free hands.

All this fun makes for a tired boy. The shirt says it all.
(For those not well versed in Latin: "I sleep, therefore I am.")

He sits, he scores!

Over the past few days Garin has gotten really good at sitting up by himself! (AND - he can also now roll over from back to front - February has been a big month.)

He still topples over to the side once in awhile, but for the most part, he can sit and play for quite awhile.

He especially enjoys his toy basket because it gives him some extra stability. Plus, it's full of such fun stuff! (although sometimes he's more interested in the basket than the toys themselves)

(Also - he's starting to sprout a tooth! More on that when we can get a photo, but it explains the nearly constant stream of drool you see in these pictures.)

Monkey Love

Grammy broke both the "no battery operated toys" and the "no corporate branded toys" rules with this Valentine's Day present (tsk, tsk). But as you can see, the boy sure does love his monkey.
It's evidently quite tasty. To be honest, we're a bit frightened by how much the boy and his monkey look alike.

Garin's Valentine

An Ode to Toes

I love my toes.
No one else knows
the wonders they possess.
. . .
I hold them tight,
through day and night.
To this I do confess.

. . .
Because I'm toothing
my gums need soothing.

(Seems like all the time.)
. . .
When my gums hurt,
a toe insert
simply feels sublime.
. . .
Some people think
that all feet stink.
"Not true, not true!" I say.
. . .
These little piggies
('specially the biggies)
bring joy to me each day!

Old dog, new tricks

Garin has learned to roll! Of course, he wouldn't do a full roll when we were taking pictures, but use your imagination to fill in the rest of this series.(Speaking of dogs, see the new addition to the previous post.)
